At LIFESTREAM CHURCH, we base all our beliefs on the authority of the Bible. In every way, we strive to maintain Biblical standards of living and leadership. We believe that living life according to God’s Word is the way to an abundant, fulfilling life.
A. THE BIBLE
We believe that the bible is the inspired & infallible Word of God. It reveals God’s nature to us and teaches us to live Godly, purposeful lives. It is the final authority concerning all matters pertaining to man.
B. THE TRINITY
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that God the Father is the Creator of the world and is actively involved in humanity. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to this earth as Savior of the world. He was born of a virgin, crucified for our sins, resurrected from the dead, and ascended to the Father. We believe that the Holy Spirit is continuing the work of Jesus upon the earth. (Matthew 28:19).
We believe that Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for our sin. We believe that salvation is only found by placing our faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus rose from the dead and is coming again. (Romans 5:1; 5:8-9).
D. ORDINANCES IN THE CHURCH
There are two church ordinances: Water Baptism for believers and the Lord’s Supper. These are acts of obedience and are of great benefit to individual believers and the body as a whole. However, they are not to be regarded as a means of salvation (1 Cor. 11:23-24, Acts 8:35-37, 10:47-48, 1 Cor. 1:14, Acts 8:12)
We believe baptism is an outward sign of a person’s understanding of their need for Jesus Christ and their own free will have accepted Him as their personal Lord and Savior. (1 Peter 3:21)
We believe in regularly receiving Communion as an act of remembering the sacrifice that Jesus made for us through dying on the cross. (1 Corinthians 11:24-25).
E. THE MINISTRY
Divinely called and scripturally ordained offices such as Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers, Evangelists, and Deacons. They are called by the Holy Spirit, bestowed gifts according to their calling, and have been provided by our Lord for the threshold purpose of leading the church in:
1. Evangelization of the world (Mark 16: 15-20)
2. Worship of God (John. 4:23-24)
3. Building a body of saints, being perfected in the image of His Son (Ephesians. 4:11-16)
F. SPIRITUAL GIFTS
We believe that baptism in the Holy Spirit empowers believers to live as witnesses to the resurrection of Jesus Christ, evidenced by His power working in us and through us. We are experiencing the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit, like in the book of Acts. We believe bodily healing is a provision of the atoning work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
G. FINANCE AND STEWARDSHIP
The financial system of LifeStream Church is built around the Biblical teaching of tithing and offering, and its members are encouraged to honor God with their tithe and offerings and support any special needs as they arise (Malachi. 3:10; Hebrews. 7:6-9; 2 Corinthians. 9:6-7)
We believe that the term ‘marriage’ has only one meaning and that is marriage sanctioned by God which joins one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. God intends sexual intimacy to only occur between a man and a woman who are married to each other. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. Any form of sexual immorality, such as adultery, fornication, homosexuality, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, pornography or any attempt to change one’s sex, or disagreement with one’s biological sex, is sinful and offensive to God. We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. The church will encourage and support anyone who is open to forsake any sinful lifestyle.
I. SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the return of the Lord Jesus Christ and the resurrection of both believers and unbelievers! The believers are resurrected into eternal life in the presence of God. The unbelievers are resurrected into eternal damnation without a further opportunity of repentance.
